Amahl and the Night Visitors
This classic children’s opera by American master Gian Carlo Menotti uses the Christmas story as a backdrop for a universal tale of generosity and forgiveness. Originally produced for NBC Television in 1952, Amahl has become a well loved holiday tradition for many, and a wonderful opportunity for schools to bring an entire opera sung by classically trained singers right to their door.

Amahl & the Night Visitors is a beautifully crafted musical fable that brings to life the journey of the Three Kings as they follow their star. The miraculous Christmas story is seen through the eyes of a Amahl, a poor young boy, and his purity of heart allows a miracle to occur. This beautiful story of love and compassion points us all to the true meaning of the season.
Performed by our company of professionally trained opera singers and pianist (no recorded music here!), children can get up close and personal with an art form that’s been bringing audiences to their feet for over 400 years.
